EUFAULA, Okla. (AP) _ A former McIntosh County assessor is being given a month to repay nearly $80,000 she's accused of embezzling from the county.
Prosecutors say they're giving Vickie Hamm 30 days to ``do the right thing'' before she returns to court on December 13th.
Assistant District Attorney Jim Bob Miller says he agreed to give Hamm a chance to repay the money but declined to say if he'll offer lesser punishment if she pays.
Hamm has not entered a plea in the case and hasn't been ordered to stand trial.
She resigned October tenth after 15 years as county assessor.
