Some Tulsa students hoped to keep their grades afloat during a unique test. It was sink or float day for these Marquette School students.

The kids set sail Monday inside boats they designed themselves. It's a homework project they've been working on for days. And to really make waves, teachers only allowed the boats to be made out of cardboard.

Melissa Stirling, Marquette Catholic School teacher: “we had some great examples of success and we had some sinkers as well, but they learned from that as well so it was fun and exciting.”

It is all designed to test kids' knowledge of math and science theories.
