Some Tulsa students hoped to keep their grades afloat during a unique test. It was sink or float day for these Marquette School students.

The kids set sail Monday inside boats they designed themselves. It's a homework project they've been working on for days. And to really make waves, teachers only allowed the boats to be made out of cardboard.

Melissa Stirling, Marquette Catholic School teacher: â€œwe had some great examples of success and we had some sinkers as well, but they learned from that as well so it was fun and exciting.â€

It is all designed to test kids' knowledge of math and science theories.
