AUSTIN, Texas (AP) _ Starting defensive tackle Derek Lokey broke his leg in No. 5 Texas' win over Nebraska and will be out indefinitely.

Lokey fractured the fibula in his lower leg in the second quarter Saturday, trainer Kenny Boyd said Monday. Surgery is scheduled for later this week.

Lokey had 24 tackles on the season and also played fullback in short-yardage situations for the Longhorns (7-1, 4-0 Big 12).

``This is an unfortunate setback for Derek and our defense,'' coach Mack Brown said. ``It will be important that someone steps up and fill his void for us to continue to be one of the best defenses in the country.''
