FORT SILL, Okla. (AP) -- A group of about 130 Fort Sill-based soldiers are back with their families after a 12-month tour of duty in Iraq.
The soldiers from Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 5th Field Artillery were welcomed home Sunday during a ceremony at the Rinehart Physical Fitness Center at Army post near Lawton.
Brigade Commander Colonel Gary Agron marveled at the group's work during a brief speech Sunday.
He says the men and women conducted more than 200 convoy missions, driving more than 360-thousand miles across some of the world's most deadly roads. The group suffered no casualties, despite 15 enemy attacks.
