OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry and Texas Governor Rick Perry make a friendly wager on the upcoming Oklahoma-Texas football game.
The governor whose team loses will donate a basket of goods from his state to a charitable organization of the winning governor's choice. The wager is a long standing tradition between the governors of the two states.
Henry says he expects the Sooners to win Saturday at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas in the 101st meeting between the teams. Texas won last year's matchup, but OU had won 5 straight in the series before that.
Henry says he has unwavering confidence that coach Bob Stoops and the Sooners will make Saturday a triumphant one for the Crimson and Cream.
Perry disagrees with that assessment and notes that OU's trip across the Red River won't be for nothing, because the Sooners can get a look at the Longhorns' national championship trophy while they are in Texas.
