OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma Gas and Electric is issuing an "Electricity Advisory" for Wednesday and asking customers to reduce their use of electricity.
OG&E spokesman Brian Alford says maintenance at power plants plus unexpected plant outages and unseasonably warm weather is straining the electric system.
OG&E is asking customers to raise thermostats a few degrees higher, turn off unnecessary lights and avoid using electrical appliances such as ovens, clothes dryers and dishwashers -- especially during the peak hours from 4 til 6 PM.
