WOODWARD, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says the deaths of a man and a woman at a Woodward residence may be the result of a murder-suicide.

OSBI spokeswoman Jessica Brown says police officers doing a welfare check discovered the bodies of the recently divorced couple in the woman's house yesterday afternoon. Officers were asked to check on them because neither victim had been seen at work.

Brown says it appears the man shot the woman and then shot himself.

Investigators believe the pair were shot sometime after noon. Their identities weren't immediately released.

Brown says a nine millimeter handgun was discovered at the house.
