OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says that the statewide traffic fatality count for 2006 is down slightly from the same time last year.
The OHP says that 544 people have died on Oklahoma roads this year. That's 18 fewer than had died at the same time last year.
Through Friday, 53 people have died this month in traffic accidents in the state, compared to 70 at the same time in 2005.
