NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops says he knows the Sooners have to get better on defense despite coming off the team's first shutout in nearly two seasons.
The 16th-ranked Sooners beat Middle Tennessee 59-to-0 last week for the team's first shutout since a 35-nothing win over Baylor in November 2004.
Up next for 3-and-1 OU is 3-and-1 and seventh-ranked Texas in Dallas a week from Saturday.
The OU defense had trouble finishing off tackles in the first three games before Middle Tennessee and Stoops says the team has to push forward to get the consistency coaches want.
With OU having Saturday off Stoops is planning practices through Thursday before giving his players Friday, Saturday and Sunday off.
