The city is working toward the next step to get Tulsa Police officers a pay raise.

Officers get to vote on the city's latest contract offer next week. More than 125 Fraternal Order of Police members voted to send the mayor’s proposal to a full vote.

The deal is actually two, one-year contracts. The first year calls for an 8-percent pay hike for police. The second year would protect merit raises and include minimal increases.

FOP Lodge president Darin Filak: "it passed pretty overwhelmingly. I think these officers see it's been a fair offer and they want everyone to have a chance to vote on it.”

We'll know the results of the contract vote next Wednesday night.
