OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The father of Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson has reportedly been denied permission to attend the OU-Texas game.

Nelson Peterson is to be released from a halfway house in Oklahoma City on October 5th and the game is two days later. But his parole restrictions require him to stay within the district of the halfway house for 30 days after his release.

He told the New York Times that going to the OU-Texas game would be the experience of a lifetime.

But The Oklahoman reports his request was denied in a letter from his probation officer.

Peterson was in prison for money laundering from 1999 until earlier this summer when he was paroled to the halfway house.

He's never seen Adrian play in person, either in high school or college and was denied permission to attend the OU-Alabama-Birmingham game in Norman last week.

The first game he could possibly attend is now the October 14th OU-Iowa State game in Norman.
