Collinsville celebrates progress Thursday. The city rededicated its 1913 city hall building Thursday afternoon.
After the old central fire station burned down in December of 2001, the city used almost $2.5-million of Vision 2025 money to rebuild.
The mayor says it's important for the city to lead by example by showing its commitment to historic preservation. Stan Salle: "we've salvaged a burned out building, our old city hall building and made it into a state-of-the-art conference meeting rooms and all city administration functions in this building."
The building has been home to the city's government for more than 90 years.
