Some Claremore students are donating to hurricane victims in a different way.
Wednesday, the Claremore High School Junior ROTC hosted an Oklahoma Blood Institute blood drive. The blood drive was a scheduled one, but organizers say it’s was a good way to help maintain the nation's blood supply in the wake of a natural disaster.
Karen Johnson with the Oklahoma Blood Institute: "When OBI is called upon to assist those hospitals with blood needs, we can step up to the plate."
The blood drive ran all day. No word on how much blood was collected, but at last word, they were doing well.
