OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Salvation Army is sending canteens to Hurricane Katrina victims. The canteens are leaving Shawnee and Ardmore and are filled with food and water.
Salvation Army spokeswoman Cindy Fuller says the supplies will arrive in Jackson, Mississippi, and will be distributed along the coast.
Fuller says they are sending an officer to Houston to help with pastoral care.
She says many of the victims' basic needs are being met, but they need spiritual and pastoral care to deal with the magnitude and aftermath of the devastation.
