Opening statements under way in Robert Blake civil suit

BURBANK, Calif. (AP) _ The lawyer representing the children of Bonny Lee Bakley says the slain wife of actor Robert Blake may have done "some stupid things in her life." But, he says, Bakley loved her kids.

Attorney Eric Dubin delivered his opening statement in the wrongful-death lawsuit against the actor. Dubin says he'll prove Blake was involved in Bakley's killing.

During his comments today, Dubin admitted Bakley used to earn money by scamming men with nude photos of herself, and the promise of sex. But he says that had "nothing to do with her kids," who didn't know how she was earning a living.

Blake was acquitted of criminal charges in his wife's 2001 shooting death. But now her two adult children and two young ones are seeking monetary damages in a civil suit filed in Burbank, California.
