MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (AP) -- A 43-year-old Midwest City man was in critical condition after he was stabbed while taking his trash to the curb.

Police say Darren Wright was preparing to leave for work at about 5 AM Thursday when police say he was attacked by a man who stabbed him several times in the head and torso.

Wright was transported to an Oklahoma City hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 6-feet tall and 175 pounds, wearing a blue sweat shirt and dark pants.
