OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An Oklahoma woman is one of six registered nurses to win a national scholarship for graduate studies.

March of Dimes awarded Elizabeth Thomas with $5,000 to pursue research in the field of maternal-child nursing.

Thomas is pursuing a doctorate in nursing and a master's degree in public health from the University of Arizona.

Her research interest is rural motherhood.

March of Dimes is a national organization that focuses on infant health.
