OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The State Capitol Park will receive ten new evergreen trees through a grant given by a forestry company's foundation.
The $14,100 award from the Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation is part of a series of annual grants given so the state can plant 100 trees in time for the state's Centennial next year.
Each tree will represent a year of statehood.
The ten new trees will be planted this fall.
So far, grants have totaled enough to plant 93 trees.
