A Broken Arrow firefighter accused of shooting with intent to kill talks exclusively with the News on 6.
We've been following the story of Broken Arrow firefighter Jack Watson, who was arrested in connection with a single gunshot that left his wife's ex-husband fighting for his life. For the first time, he talks exclusively with News on 6 anchor Tami Marler.
The story captured media attention in May, when police reported a shooting in the backyard of a Bixby home. Now, at least three lives are changed forever. Bixby Police reports say Lara Watson was arguing with her ex-husband Marc Lorrin in the backyard of this home, when her new husband Jack Watson returned home with a gun.
Marc Lorrin was shot in the back of the head and Watson was charged with shooting with intent to kill. When I spoke with Jack and Lara Wednesday, they told me there was much more to the story and they're eager for the public to hear their side.
Jack Watson: "I'd like to get my side out but on my attorney's advice I'm not to discuss any part of the case."
Tami Marler: "But why do you want to get your side out? When you see the news accounts."
Jack Watson: "Because the news accounts are not correct, they're little pieces of the police report. It's not all there. But once it's out I'm confident that I'll be acquitted or the case will be dismissed totally."
I also spoke with Marc Lorrin's mother Wednesday. She tells me his brain injury will affect him for the rest of his life. He's reportedly undergoing extensive physical and speech therapy and he'll have surgery to replace part of his skull on Friday.
