Voters in Collinsville turned down a proposal to purchase ONG’s gas distribution system within their city limits.

The town had the option to buy the system from ONG, after a 25 year franchise agreement with ONG expired in June. Almost 70-percent of those who voted, said ‘no’ to the proposal.

And voters in the Preston School district in Okmulgee County have approved a $1.1-million bond issue.

School officials say the money will be used to build a new high school.
