OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Governor Brad Henry will hold a press conference on Wednesday to honor Carrie Underwood, the Checotah native who won the "American Idol" competition.

The Department of Transportation will honor Underwood by placing signs in her hometown.

Henry plans to unveil a sample sign on Wednesday that reads "Checotah, Oklahoma -- Home of Carrie Underwood."
