OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Governor Brad Henry has appointed 13 new members to a state board that regulates operators of Oklahoma's 350 nursing homes.

A new law passed last session required the governor to replace 13 of the 15 members on the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators.

Most of the ousted 13 board members were nursing home administrators. They came under fire for not taking enough action against long-term care centers that had complaints lodged against them.

Two board members are designees from the Department of Human Services and state Health Department.

The new law requires the appointment of five nursing home administrators, five health care and treatment providers and three members of the general public.
