GUTHRIE, Okla. (AP) _ A Logan County man is behind bars after authorities say DNA linked him to the rape of an Edmond woman seven years ago.

45 year old Randy James Leistner is being held in the Logan County jail after being arrested without incident Friday.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown says Leistner is accused of breaking into the woman's Edmond home on October 5th, 1998, and raping her.

Brown says DNA evidence from the crime scene was entered into a database in April of this year and matched the defendant.

Court records show Leistner is being charged with one count each of first-degree rape and first-degree burglary.
