Some eastern Oklahoma Boy Scouts are home from Jamboree. Family and friends with lots of signs and smiles welcomed back a group of about 120 Boy Scouts Wednesday night.
The airport was packed with scouts who brought back lots of stories about their time in Virginia. This year's Jamboree made national headlines because of electrocutions and heat illnesses, but a scout leader the News on 6 talked to, says despite the tragedies, the boys still managed to keep up morale and have a great time.
One of the biggest highlights of their trip was getting to hear President Bush's speech. Boy Scout Joe Maltsberger: "It was awesome. It was awesome. It was us and about 75,000 other people but it was still very very awesome and he had a really good message about scouting that was very appropriate.â€
About 200 Boy Scouts from eastern Oklahoma have returned home from the Jamboree.
