OKLAHOMA CITY -- A federal grant administrator is accused of soliciting bribes in connection with a housing program he ran for the city of Sayre in 2001.
Court papers claim Glen Robert Turner of Oklahoma City worked out a deal for a finder's fee with a home builder.
Court documents allege the builder bid for contracts funded through a Department of Housing and Urban Development program that provided Sayre with $250,000 to build four homes.
Turner is accused of receiving $12,000 from the builder for funneling four projects to the company in 2001.
Turner declined to comment on the specifics of the charge, but says it was a result of a conflict of interest rather than an intentional effort to break the law.
He's scheduled to be arraigned on the bribery charge August 25th in federal court in Oklahoma City.
