Citizens for Fair and Clean Government announced Tuesday morning that they have dropped a Tulsa city council recall effort.
There had been an effort underway since May to recall Mayor Bill LaFortune, Councilors Susan Neal, Tom Baker, Bill Christiansen and Randy Sullivan.
An earlier Tulsa city council recall effort ended last month with city councilors Chris Medlock and Jim Mautino winning in a special election.
At a Tuesday morning news conference, organizers David O'Connor and Larry Wilson said they decided to listened to the advice of groups like the League of Women Voters, the NAACP, and the county Republican and Democratic parties and abandon the recall effort.
