OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An Oklahoma State University graduate alleges in a federal lawsuit that the school's football stadium violates the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Stillwater resident James Lawson says Boone Pickens Stadium does not have enough seating locations with clear lines of sight for disabled people. He also says the stadium does not have enough accessible parking spaces and has faulty concession stands, restrooms and ramps.
The lawsuit requests OSU be forced to take corrective action, perform a self-evaluation of deficiencies and pay for Lawson's court costs and attorney fees.
The lawsuit names OSU Board of Regents Chairman Jay Helm as the defendant. Helm denies all the allegations in a filing and says the requested modifications are not feasible under Department of Justice and ADA guidelines.
