OOLOGAH, Okla. (AP) -- A failed water pump is forcing some Rogers County residents to ration water.

The pump is one of four that provides water in Rural Water District Number Four in northwestern Rogers County including the cities of Oologah and Talala.

Officials are asking residents not to water lawns or fill swimming pools, but say normal water service shouldn't be affected. The pump is to be replaced tomorrow but officials say it'll take about 24 hours for the water storage system to be completely refilled.

Water officials in Broken Arrow are also asking residents to limit watering their lawns while they replace one of two main water lines.

Residents in Water District 14 in Pittsburg County have also been asked to ration water until Saturday. They're encouraged not to water the lawn or wash their cars for the time being.

Some residents in Wagoner County are being asked to ration water. Officials say a valve broke at the water plant, affecting rural water district number 9. Residents are being asked not to water lawns or gardens, wash cars or clothes or use any other large amounts of water. The problem should be fixed sometime Wednesday.
