Friday marks the end of an era in Tulsa radio. KRMG will announce the replacement for longtime morning host John Erling.

Erling announced his retirement back in April and says he's been touched by the outpouring of support from his listeners.

After 44 years in broadcasting, Erling admits it will hard to leave a calling he's pursued since childhood. “They tell me I would stand on a tree stump in the woods on the farm with my mother's bible and preach to the chickens. And then complain to my mother that the chickens are running in and out of my church. So I was apparently born to do some public speaking.”

KRMG radio is located at 740 on the AM dial.
