A follow-up a budget cuts in the Bartlesville school district.

The school board had announced several budget cuts, which would mean getting rid of several positions, including a band teacher. The band parents raised such a fuss that the issue went back to the board for another vote.

Despite much debate, the school board this week, approved the cuts in a temporary budget.

The district is set to receive more than $440,000 in state funding, but a decline in enrollment means the district will receive almost $54,000 less next school year.

Bartlesville's top band director Ron Lewis resigned over the budget battle and took a job in the Collinsville school district.
