A Tahlequah woman has been charged with abusing her 6-week-old son.

Tahlequah Police say 18-year-old Samantha Roberson took her son to the hospital last week saying he was suffering from head trauma. Hospital employees suspected abuse and called police. That's when Roberson told police the baby wouldn't stop crying so she jerked it from its crib, hitting its head.

Police say she didn't take the baby to the hospital until 17 hours later. He's alive, but on a ventilator.
