In a corner of downtown Tulsa there is a small renovation project that is making improvements one building at a time.

At 417 West 7th, an odd shaped brick building has a new life and a brighter future with an art gallery, offices and a top floor residence. News on 6 reporter Rick Wells says Studio 3 is a new art gallery.

Studio 3 contains sculpture, paintings and photography. Ian Navarro: â€œI wanted a gallery that's approachable, I wanted a gallery that is more casual, that you can come in and not know about art and ask." Ian is himself an artist but, too busy with the gallery to paint. He loves to talk about the art, the artists and their stories. "Antonio Joseph Mendez, who is a very accomplished artist, he's an ex CIA agent." Really, now he paints.

There are well known artists here and not so well known. There are sculptures too.

Ian bought this triangular shaped building on West 7th Street a year ago, did some renovations on the third floor and moved in. Says the building's odd shape is a plus. "The building on one side is three times as wide as the building on the other end." Makes for odd shaped rooms.

The gallery is the first floor gem in this project and there is always room for the right pieces.
