OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Authorities say a premature baby died after being born to female inmate in the Oklahoma County jail.

The woman's name hasn't been released. County officials say only that she's a middle-aged woman.

Sheriff's department spokeswoman Kelly Marshall says the baby was born Friday in the medical ward on the 13th floor of the jail. Marshall says miscarriages at the jail are not common, but there are several pregnant inmates.
