Tragedy strikes in the most unusual place. A beloved member of Eufaula loses it all. Now that community is looking for help for one of their top volunteers.

News on 6 anchor Terry Hood says Chris King built a community food pantry in Eufaula out of nothing in just a matter of months. King collects canned goods, household supplies, and clothing for families in need.

The pantry has already helped hundreds of families across the area. King says he's worked with many families who've lost everything and never thought he'd be facing the same situation. Chris King's mobile home outside of Eufaula was destroyed in a fire Tuesday night. Everything he and his wife Sherry had, including their three youngest children were inside during the fire.

Their kids escaped without getting hurt, but now the ultimate volunteer is in need of a helping hand of his own. Pastor Milton Allen of the Piney Creek Fellowship Church: "It was devastating, and anything like that would be devastating to anybody, he's still standing strong, and he's saying I probably need to get down to the outreach center, there is probably someone who needs something, when he needs something right now."

The King’s children are staying with family in Oklahoma City. Someone has already volunteered a new mobile home and bedroom furniture, if the Kings can find a way to get it moved to Eufaula.
