OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A state prison spokesman says a deadly fight among inmates at the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite may have been race-related.
Department of Corrections spokesman Jerry Massie says the jail remains under lockdown Tuesday and weekend visitations are canceled.
Convicted Tulsa County rapist Donald Jones[pictured] died of multiple stab wounds he suffered during the fight and about eight other inmates were injured. No guards or prison staff are injured.
Massie says no charges have been filed and state Bureau of Investigation agents are interviewing up to 300 inmates and staff as they investigate the fight.
Massie says there were 20 guards on duty when the fight began about 7 PM Sunday and the fight ended when a guard fired one shot and ordered the inmates to disperse.
