Tulsa Police are investigating the sexual assault of a 6-year old girl, taken from her bedroom early Tuesday morning.
It happened just before 5 AM near 2nd and South Pittsburgh. News on 6 reporter Heather Lewin says a next door neighbor, Malinda Richardson, has grandchildren who are playmates of the little girl.
Richardson says her dog woke her up early Tuesday morning and police arrived shortly after. This type of crime happening to a child she knows hits too close to home. "It's terrible. The person needs to be castrated. They need to be caught, whoever done it, something bad needs to be done to them."
Tulsa Police are still on the lookout for a serial rapist preying on Tulsa children. Investigators have definitely linked 5 assault cases to that suspect and are looking at least one more, but they says it is too early to tell if the serial rapist is responsible for Tuesday's assault.
Police say the suspect entered the bedroom through a window and sexually assaulted the girl while two siblings sleep nearby.
The suspect in this case is described as a white male, between 20 and 30 years old, short hair and wearing shorts and a white shirt.
