There is a new roadblock for plans to build a toll bridge across the Arkansas River in south Tulsa.
Tulsa's City attorney has issued a legal opinion saying Tulsa County can "not" use eminent domain to condemn city property. Tulsa County would have to condemn a portion of park lands owned by the city to build a toll bridge linking Yale Avenue on the north with Yale Place on the south.
The city attorney says counties have no authority to condemn property within a municipality for road purposes.
The Tulsa city council passed a resolution opposing the toll bridge last week.
