An Owasso woman is recovering from a knife attack, after two men tried to carjack her on her way to work in Tulsa early Thursday morning.

Michelle Griffith had just exited state Highway 11 and was about to turn onto Harvard when she heard a popping noise. Thinking she had blown a tire, Griffith got out to check. She says two men suddenly approached the car, she jumped back in, and they ran up and started yelling at her.

When she wouldn't get out, one of the men reached through the window with a knife. "During the whole time I wasn't thinking about how to try and get my car into gear and go. I'm worrying about this guy breaking out my window and this guy with this knife who's cutting me. All I could concentrate on was trying to get this window up and trying to keep this door locked."

When her attacker suddenly dropped the knife, Griffith sped off.

Tulsa Police say the suspects may have thrown a firecracker or other device to trick her into stopping.

Investigators are now looking at any possible connections to other recent carjackings.
