NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- A Norman physician dies after a twin-engine plane crashed at the University of Oklahoma's Max Westheimer Airport in Norman.

Norman Fire Department Deputy Chief Fullingim says Doctor Robert Spector was killed Wednesday afternoon when the Piper Seneca he was flying clipped the second floor of the airport terminal and crashed. Fullingim says the plane was arriving from Austin, Texas, and that no other injuries were reported.

A witness who works at a diner inside the terminal says he saw the plane veer toward him before it crashed.

Cameron Quetone -- who works at Ozzie's Diner -- says he heard the engine stop just before the Piper Seneca hit the corner of the building. The plane then crashed east of the terminal.

Fullingim says officials with the National Transportation Safety Board and FAA are investigating.

Spector was a practicing surgeon at Norman Regional Hospital.
