LAWTON, Okla. (AP) _ About 200 Oklahoma Army National Guard soldiers are now on alert for possible deployment to Iraq.
The soldiers are with the First Battalion, 158th, Field Artillery headquartered in Lawton and have been told they may be sent to Iraq late this year or early next year. The orders say they may be activated for up to 18 months and will likely be providing security and guarding main supply routes.
