LAWTON, Okla. (AP) _ The largest prison in Oklahoma is about to become even bigger.
Lawton Correctional Facility Warden David Miller says the privately owned prison will add space for 600 more inmates, giving it room for about 2,500 total inmates.
The medium- and minium-security prison is owned by Geo Group Incorporated and currently has about 400 employees. The expansion will mean the hiring of about 60 more workers.
The prison opened in 1998 and rents bed space to the state Corrections Department.
