OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ As President Bush begins his search for a US Supreme Court nominee, Oklahoma's two US senators weighed on preparations for filling the vacancy.
US Senator Tom Coburn says Bush should select someone who will move the court away from what he calls ``self-indulgent judicial activism.''
As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Muskogee Republican will get to question Bush's nominee for the nation's highest court.
Meanwhile, Senator Jim Inhofe says Bush should nominate Janice Rogers Brown, who recently was confirmed to a federal appeals court in Washington.
Inhofe says it would be difficult for Democrats who allowed a vote last month on Brown to reverse course and block a vote on her for the Supreme Court.
