Authorities in Cherokee County are investigating the death of a man on the Illinois River near Tahlequah.

The News on 6 has been told, the victim, A-Chang, was chaperoning a group at the river when some men on motorcycles started harassing them. Chang disappeared not long after that.

A boater found his body was found a short time later in the river.

While it appears Chang drowned, the Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commission says it is waiting on autopsy results and interviewing witnesses.
