Tulsa Police are investigating a double homicide. The bodies were found Monday morning in a vehicle not far from downtown.
News on 6 reporter Emory Bryan says Carol Winters has lived next door to the murder scene for five months, but she's ready to move. "I think it's awful, it's not safe anymore.â€
Across the street at 512 North Quaker, two bodies were found in a Chevy Suburban. They were in the front seat of the SUV, parked in front of a vacant rental house. The landlord found the bodies. Carol Winters: "He just said he went over there to fix up the house and he seen that truck in the driveway so he looked in it and saw the two dead bodies."
Tulsa Police say it looks like an execution, with two men, still seat-belted in, shot in the head. The truck had Texas plates but authorities haven't released the names of the dead men. Tulsa Police officer Scott Walton: "All we know at this point is two Hispanic males who appeared to die from gunshot wounds; they don't show any connection between their vehicle, anyone, to the rent house.â€
Detectives spent Monday morning photographing the scene, searching for clues, and taking away bags of evidence. For now they call it a whodunit, with no suspects identified so far.
Carol Winters wonders if she heard the killers outside her house during the night. "Well around 2:30 in the morning, I heard someone knock on my sons window, and then my daughters window, and I went in to check, and I didn't see anything but the dog was barking so I looked out, so I wonder what the dog was barking at."
Tulsa Police believe the murders happened early Monday morning, but are waiting for autopsy results and crime lab results, hoping to get what they need to find a suspect.
