TULSA, Okla. (AP) Jason Perry had two RBI's and Midland pitchers allowed five hits as the RockHounds beat the Tulsa Drillers 5-2 in a Texas League game.
The game was tied 1-1 when Mark Kiger's single scored Francis Gomez to give Midland (1-0) the lead for good at 2-1 in the top of the sixth inning Thursday night. Kiger and Steve Stanley scored on Perry's two-run single later in the three-run frame.
The RockHounds got another run off Vasili Spanos' homer in the seventh before the Drillers (0-1) rallied. Alvin Colina homered to left field to bring the score to 5-2.
An RBI by Ryan Spilborghs put Tulsa on top 1-0 in the first inning. Midland tied the game when Perry scored on Matt Allegra's sacrifice fly in the top of the second.
