Lots of Tulsa kids are keeping cool this summer and having fun in their neighborhood pool.

The Hawthorne Pool at 955 East 33rd Street North will stay open this year thanks to the Osage Nation's Million Dollar Elm Casino. Thursday, tribal members presented Tulsa Mayor Bill LaFortune and the City Parks Department a check for $25,000 to be used for pool maintenance, and lifeguards.

The Hawthorne Pool was closed for the past three years because of budget cuts. Mayor Bill LaFortune: "what I love about today is we have a new corporate partner, a new organization to step-up to really help us, help the kids."

The Osage Casino also adopted Hawthorne Elementary School and will help provide the students mentors, tutors and supplies.
