Children across Oklahoma will be able to get much needed books as a part of the "Caring for Kids", Book by Book campaign.
Thursday, Bank of Oklahoma presented checks for $1,500 each to Volunteers of America and Family and Children's Services. The groups will use the money to buy books to bring the joy of reading to children.
BOk vice president Steve Bradshaw: “we know that the correlation between the number of books in a home and the reading scores that come out of the home are strong, so we're committed to bringing more and more books to kids especially to those who don't have the resources to get their own."
