Nationwide, 50 firefighters have died on the job so far this year.

That's ten more than had died by this time last year. The International Association of Fire Fighters is working to change that figure and keep things safe in Tulsa and across the US..

Fire departments across the country and in Tulsa suspended all non-emergency activity Tuesday to focus entirely on fire fighter safety. They checked their gear, and discussed what to do if they ever find themselves in trouble.
