Traffic on the Creek Turnpike increased last month in spite of shootings in which five sport utility vehicles have been struck by bullets on the turnpike in the last two months.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the turnpike's traffic count for May was more than 5.5 million vehicles, nearly 300-thousand more than the April total.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the shootings. The first occurred on April 26th, hitting four westbound SUVs either in the hood or radiator grill
The second round was a solo incident damaging an eastbound SUV just a week ago. No one was been injured in any of the turnpike shootings.
Broken Arrow police have joined up with the highway patrol and FBI to form a task force focused on the Creek Turnpike shootings.
