OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The leader of a conservative think-tank is urging state officials to exercise fiscal prudence in planning Oklahoma's centennial celebration.

The 100th anniversary of Oklahoma statehood is November 16th, 2007, and a commission has recommended 30 (m) million dollars on a host of projects.

Plans call for everything from an exhibit of gowns worn by Oklahoma first ladies to a softball complex in Seminole.

President Mark Nichols of the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs says officials should be wary of overspending and stuffing the celebration with pet projects.
